Saturday At The Lake

We decided to take Memorial Day Weekend off and head to the Lake. I drove, which I don't usually do. I want you people to know that I made an hour and 10 minute trip(only into the next state) into a 40 minute one. I only saw one cop until we crossed the state line. After that, we usually don't see any but there were tons this time! It's cool though. No ticket for me. I just get us there so much faster than if Jesse were driving. We only stopped once at our traditional Walmart(where we always stop) because someone, not mommy, forgot to pack Mickey. Uh-Oh! We need something to sleep with!! We had to let Joshua pick out a new teddy bear at Walmart to sleep with. We made it to the Lake about 11:15 Friday night. Here are our pictures from Saturday.

Joshua loves to watch the water move. He is completely fascinated with it and it was hard to keep him from leaning completely out of the boat.

He's soooo cute! I can't help it.

On Saturday, we took our lunch out on the boat. Joshua had pb&j and the rest of us had lunch meat. Here he is enjoying his sandwich.

His entire face is enjoying it.

MMMMMM-MMMM Good!

Story time!!! This is the "Crack House". It has disconnected from someones dock and is just floating downstream towards the dam. Story has it that the owner of this floating house has been put in jail for dealing crack. Now, there is no one to take care of his property and it is just floating away. It will randomly get stuck on someones property and they just shove it back out into the middle of the lake to let it float downstream a little more.

Here is the up-close and personal picture ;-)

Joshua is the biggest hugger ever! He will hug anyone and everyone. Here I am getting a good one from him.

And kisses too! Lucky me! And Jesse even got it on camera!!!

We had a cooler on the boat and Joshua got into it and started eating the ice. He looks like he is enjoying himself doesn't he?

Digging in the cooler...

...and he fell in the cooler! Laurie is sitting right above him but I didn't let her get him until I got a picture. He was pretty mad but it was pretty funny.

This is Glen's boat. Jesse and Joe went on it for a while and Jesse surfed behind it. This is a picture of Glen's wife, Pam surfing. I only got video of Jesse doing it, no pictures.

Saturday evening when we went out, it was chilly. So, Joshua is wearing jeans and his jacket under his life vest.

Hug for Grandma Laurie

You know it's bad when both the Coast Guard and The Lake Ranger have boarded your boat! We did a little circling around and checking it out. Of course, I had to get pictures!!! We had gone to the marina for a little while and we were heading home when we saw this.

More story time! You have to bear with my little drawing that I did in Paint.
Ok, we were coming from the Marina toward the house. We had rounded the bend and we were getting ready to pull into the dock(that little black dot on the edge of the water near the house). The black circle in the middle by the marina is where the Coast Guard and the Ranger had the other boat. As we were pulling in, a boat is coming from the other direction(further right on your screen) headed toward the marina. He is speeding and breaking the noise rules. We are just sitting there laughing because he has no idea what he is about to come up on. So, we watch as he heads down and around the bend. Then, all goes quiet. He had cut his engine as soon as he saw the cops. He probably peed himself ;-) "No officer, it wasn't me making all that noise flying down through there. It was the pontoon boat that is sitting around the bend". We got a good laugh at his expense. I am quite the artist aren't I?

Well, that concludes Saturday. Sunday is to come.

First Haircut-I Think Not!

Before we were going to leave for the lake, Jesse wanted to get a haircut. So, we drove to where he normally gets it done and they were packed. So, he just went to where I usually get mine done because I called and there wasn't a wait. On the way there, we talked about maybe getting Joshua's hair trimmed for the first time since we were going to be there anyway. Um, no. Joshua was going to have none of that!

Here is Jesse getting his hair cut. It was crazy long!!! I should have taken a picture of it on the floor!

Here is Joshua's reaction to thinking that he was going to get his hair cut too.

Isn't he just the cutest thing!?!?!...even crying.

It took at least 10 minutes to get this calm. He let everyone in the place know that there was no chance that he was going to sit in one of those chairs and let anyone touch his head!

New Bikes

We bought new bikes for ourselves on Craigslist.org. We are loving it. We also bought a bike trailer that we can use to haul Joshua. It is so much fun! Joshua loves being outside no matter what. There is a park that isn't far from us and we can now ride our bikes there, take picnics and let Joshua play. Jesse and I also both got roller blades at a garage sale recently. I just want you all to know, I am the garage sale queen!!

Here are a couple of pictures of Joshua in his new bike trailer.

My Prayer of Thanksgiving

So, tonight is my second night of not being able to sleep because my withdraw symptoms are making me feel very jittery. So, I watched a little TV but there wasn't really anything on. Then, I just sat for a while in bed watching Jesse sleep. Then, I sat for a while in Joshua's room watching him sleep. There have been several moments in the last few days where I felt like if I hugged Joshua, I would just hug him until he popped. He is growing so quickly and I feel like I am missing so much even when I am with him almost every minute of every day. So, when I was lying in bed, I started thinking and this song came to mind. This really is my prayer of thanksgiving. I couldn't ask God for anything more than He has already given me.

How could I ask for more-Cindy Morgan

There's nothing like the warmth of a summer afternoon
Waking to the sunlight, and being cradled by the moon
Catching fireflies at night
Building castles in the sand
Kissing Mama's face goodnight
and holding Daddy's hand.
Thank you, Lord. How could I ask for more?

Running barefoot through the grass
A little hide and go seek
Being so in love that you can hardly eat
Dancing in the dark, when there's no one else around
Being bundles 'neath the covers, watching snow fall to the ground.
Thank you, Lord. How could I ask for more?

So many thing I thought would bring me happiness
Some dreams that are realities today
Such and irony the things that mean the most to me
Are the memories I've made along the way

So if there's anything I've learned
From this journey I am on
Simple truths will keep you going
Simple love will keep you strong
Cause there are questions without answers
Flames that never die
Heartaches we go through are often blessings in disguise
So, Thank you, Lord, oh thank you, Lord
How could I ask for more?

Preparing for Mother's Day

Joshua and Noah made their gifts for Mother's Day. They took clay pots and painted them with sponges. They had a blast and everyone they gave them to loved them!

Here is Joshua painting away.

Noah did some hand prints on his pots.

Joshua got it everywhere!

Here are our two painted up little boys.

Good thing that will wash off of skin!

Of course they had to have a bath before we could put other clothes on them. Joshua has been in this stage where he screams bloody murder when you put him in the tub. It took him a little while to finally let go of the side and stop screaming. But, eventually he stayed in.

Look at all the bath toys!

Noah is helping Joshua get clean...and Joshua looks like he is going to start screaming again.

Both boys out and dried off, reading a book, getting ready for a nap.

They are such good little sharers.

All in all, Joshua did really well with his Mother's Day pots. He made a total of 5.
One for me, Grammy, Mamaw, Grandma Laurie and Nana. He did a great job!

Rainy Day Boy

It is continuous rain here. We are all so sick of being stuck inside! Joshua especially! He loves to be outside! So, even though it was raining, he put on his rain boots and rain coat to go outside with Daddy to feed the animals.

Here is my little/big guy.

Of course we have to stomp in the water a little bit.

Off to work, off to work...

McDonalds

Cynetta and I took Joshua and Noah one morning to McDonalds(mostly because Cynetta and I needed to get something to eat). The boys weren't interested in eating. They just wanted to play. So, here they are.

Here is Noah

Both boys. They had such a good time together.

Joshua went down the big slide all by himself! He is getting so big! I can't get over how independent he already is!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Joshua found his Pooh kite and wanted to take it outside on the worst possible day. There wasn't even a breeze. The only way the kite ever stayed in the air was if Jesse was running at full speed with it behind him. It was pretty amusing to watch...at least I thought so.

Tree Chopping

Jesse helped Papaw cut a big chunk out of one of his trees the other night and when the neighbor saw them, he enlisted their help. Here are a few pics of Jesse at work.

About a week and a half ago, Rachel, Miranda and I took our kids over to Mamaw & Papaw's house to play for a while. Here is a picture of Mamaw holding 3 of the 4 great-grandkids.

Here is Audrey. Look at those innocent/not-so-innocent eyes!!!

After we went to Mamaw & Papaw's house, Miranda and I took Joshua and Alivia to Pizza Hut for lunch. They chowed down and had a blast together! Here is Alivia. She is the spitting image of Todd!

Here is Joshua.

Joshua had some crackers while Miranda and I were finishing up. I asked him if he could share with Alivia and this was the result.
